Setting Up Machine Offsets

Y Offsets

There are four different numbers and three signals for setting up the Y axis.

Offset values:

  1. The fence offset
  2. 18" door size
  3. 21" door size
  4. 24" door size

Offset signals:

  1. 18" door input
  2. 21" door input
  3. 24" door input

To calculate the Y center position of a panel, the control will check the door inputs in order to get the width. Using the appropriate door size, it will add the door size and fence offset together and set as the G54 Y position.

The door sizes should be half of the total door size (eg. an 18" door should have a 9" door size). The fence offset is the machine position of the Y axis at the inside edge of the fence. An edge finder can be used to get this position.

X Offsets

There are two offsets in the X direction: the X zero position at the backstop (G54) and the laser offset. You can use an edge finder to get the position of the backstop. After X is zeroed, you can bring the center of the tool to the center of the laser. The laser offset is applied as workshift by the programs; the value should be saved in MachMotion Parameters. These offsets are never changed by the program.

Z Setup

Zero Z to the top of the wheels.

Tool length is from the bottom of the collet to the end of the tool.
