Noticed Behavior

E-Stop Button Monitoring

On the job for DiPaolo 20498 for further reference. Taking a wire from the path between OUT_TEST1 and OUT_TEST2 to INPUT1 and INPUT2 leading it into an input on an Apollo board shows that the signal is flickering. Running the plot function inside of Mach4 shows that the 24V signal has random drop spikes. This is not a problem for the E-STOP path through E-Stop buttons back into the safety relay, just a problem when trying to monitor it for a signal in Mach4.

A new program was released that outputs a high signal on OUT_STAT2 which does seem stable. After reporting this behavior the program was added on in order to pull a signal off of OUT_STAT2, this is currently reporting the E-Stop button status.

E-Stop Light Status

While reading the lights on the front there are certain status lights that matter while using E-Stop.

If the system is not enabled lights CLEAR 1 & 2 will be orange and the system is ready to go.

If the system enables the CLEAR 1 & 2 lights will turn off and OSSD 1& 2 will turn green.

If the E-Stop button is pressed it will go OSSD 1 red & OSSD 2 green.

If the E-Stop button is released before both OSSD 1 & 2 turn red then the system will not enable. OSSD 2 will be green & CLEAR 1 will be orange which is the state that the system will not enable until the E-Stop button is pressed and held long enough for the delay in order to reset the system.
