Using Keeper Password Manager for Personal Use

From Keeper:

You have a Keeper Family License available for personal use. MachMotion will not have administrative control or access to your personal vault.

MachMotion's use of Keeper permits all employees to have a personal Keeper vault.

  • Not intended for use of company information.
  • MachMotion will not be able to access the vault, even if you are (no longer) an employee.

For the sake of (even company) security, we recommend that you use a password manager for personal things. A number of high-profile, corporate data breaches have started by compromising employees' personal accounts.

What will happen to my Keeper vault if I leave the company?

TL;DR: You will not automatically lose your passwords and other secure info.

Your linked personal account will remain free on unlimited devices for as long as the business account is active.

If you leave the business, or if the business does not renew their subscription with Keeper, you may continue to use your account for 30 days after which, it will expire and be converted to a free trial account. Contact Keeper to purchase a Family or Unlimited subscription for all of the premium features.

Keeper does have a free version that has some severe limitations.

  • Only usable on 1 mobile device.
  • Not available for desktop.

The one saving feature is that you can export all passwords in your personal vault to import into another password manager or to keep for your own use.

If you wish to pay for Keeper (to get all the features), a personal account is currently (2023-03-09) $35 per year.
