Install Timeline Overview

Monday

Open all boxes and examine all the parts, are the cables long enough? will the motors fit? 

Push to get internet to the machine, watch old machine run and pull accel, decel, and speed parameters if you can before powering down.

If any mounting solutions look sketchy then try to get them done Monday so alternate solutions can be figured out before the end of the week if needed.

Pull the old electrical panel and mount the new one. recording the wiring of any special devices that need to be reused.


Tuesday


Get clarity and finalize your understanding of the Gcode for the post/ GC adapter

Start these, (you'll probably only only get progress on two. move the third to Wednesday)

  • Mount all motors 
  • pull cables through the machine
  • Wire the cabinet


Wednesday

Finish These

  • Mount all motors 
  • pull cables through the machine
  • Wire the cabinet

Assemble the control

Power up the electrical cabinet.

Get basic motion on all axis if you can


Thursday

Test the I/O make sure it's wired correctly and everything functions

Start software setup

  • Limit switches
  • Calibrate (check the inspection form, sometimes it can save you time)
  • Home and than setup softlimits
  • Setup all other I/O
  • Tune the servos if you need to
  • setup the tool changer

Run a test cuts if you have time

Friday


Test the GC adapter/Post

Run test cuts,

Clean up the cabinet wiring

Train the customer

Finalize the GC adapter/post

Run production with them

Take Pictures and finish the redlines

back up drive parameters into the control and then back up the control




The 10 steps of an install

  1. Gather info from the old system
  2. Dismount the old stuff
  3. Mount the new stuff
  4. Run the cables
  5. Wire the new cabinet
  6. Test motion
  7. Config I/O
  8. Tune drives
  9. Test cuts
  10. Polish and document your work
