Change Tool Change Height in PLC

Search "TIA" in windows start menu. 

Then click "Browse". 

Open

Open 

Then click "Open Project view" or the "Project button in the lower left-hand corner.

On the left hand side, open PLC tags and click on "Show all Tags"

Open the User Constants tab

This value is the tool change height.

 

 

Now you have to download the correct file to the PLC, as shown below.

Click through prompts

 

Finish

Siemens PLC - Wiring SM1234 Analog Card

This is how to wire to the standard ANALOG I/O SM 1234, 4AI/2AO, +/-10V, OR 0-20 MA analog card (Part number 6ES7234-4HE32-0XB0). 

 The analog card looks like this:

Power

Wire 24VDC from the main S1200 CPU into this card.

Analog Inputs

Wire your analog inputs up to one of the four analog inputs. 

  +10V -10V or 0V
Analog 0 0+ 0-
Analog 1 1+ 1-
Analog 2 2+ 2-
Analog 3 3+ 3-

Wire your 0-10V analog inputs into the PLC as follows:

Software Setup

For the standard Siemens PLC program, to use this as spindle load, configure the Machine Parameters as follows:

Set the Spindle Load Meter Register under the Spindle configuration to Modbus. Then select Register and then PLCData1 for the 0-10V Analog Input 1.

Set Spindle Load Input Scale Max to 1000 by default. (Needs confirmation.) 

 

For 0-10V Analog Input 2, set it to PLCData2.

Note: For grinders, the Grinding Wheel Load meter uses this value. The Reg Wheel load meter use the Sub Spindle Load Meter Register. 

 

 

Analog Outputs

Wire your analog outputs to output 0 or 1. Note: 0M and 1M are commons on the analog output side.

Inside Mach4, map the analog outputs as follows:

Analog Output 0 = Modbus0->ContData3

Analog Output 1 = Modbus0->ContData4

These is the default mapping inside the PLC, but it can change.
