MachPro Package Installation

Excluding Mach from the Windows Defender Antivirus scans.

We have been working to establish digital signatures for the Mach software. When this is complete, the anti-malware scans will be able to compare the Mach files against the public signatures, and verify that the files you've installed are legitimate. For the short term, this step will still be necessary.

  1. From the Windows Start menu, select Settings

  2. At the top of the Settings window is a search box. Search for exclusions. It will offer Virus & threat protection. Click on that choice.

Run the Mach Package Installer

You will be provided with a small installer that will download and install the Mach software to your specifications.

When you run the installer, you may see these warnings. Once our software signatures are in place, these warnings will not be raised.

  • Perform network interface configuration. De-select this option. It currently only supports a several specific hardware options. Network setup details will be provided once the MachPro installation is completed.
  • Start MachPro on login. This is a convenience feature that can make morning startup less complicated for the operators
  • Disable UI WIndows Update Notifications. We recommend that you select this option. Note that it is disabling the Notifications, not the updates themselves. Microsoft still allows some updates to be held, but security related updates will be installed on all Windows computers.

Choose Components: Accept the defaults and click the Install button. You will have a progress window with the details of your installation.
